If you let the Dynamic Navigation subscription lapse, the navigation still works but it will use only the base data stored in the head unit.
If you do, it's $169 for another two years, but you MUST update the base map so you'll also encounter that dealer labor cost in addition to the $169. When your three years is up, you can choose to renew the Dynamic Nav subscription.
You're entitled to updates, but you'd have to pay the labor (probably about 1.5 hours) to have it applied.
